We love this book. As a homeschool family of six and with two preschool children, this book comes in handy and with some shelf-life to boot! With Beehive Reader 1 being a hardcover, I love the durability, the drawings are beautiful and interesting; and catches the attention of my 15 month old and 3.5 year old. My older two boys had read this book to their younger siblings. When it comes time for my 3.5 year old to learn how to read...it's already beginning and All About Spelling is definitely a key part in that role. Reading is Life!! Thank you for an excellent book.

My six year old has a late birthday, and she is a late bloomer. We decided to wait to teach any type of reading/spelling work until this past fall. We started her with just the phonograms in September, and she is reading from The Beehive Reader with ease. It is SO nice to have a reading/spelling program that correlate so nicely! I am amazed that my little gal is catching on so easily and reading so smoothly. What a neat book!

When I gave this to my 7 year old son he squealed, "My own chapter book!" He gave me a hug and a sincere thank you - it was a surprise to me to receive such a strong reaction from him! He is proud that he can read it, and keeps it in a special place next to his bed. We'll keep this in his memory box once he grows up! Thank you!

I was worried that my 13 yr old dyslexic son would not like the book...but there is nothing like success! He is so enthusiastic because he knows these words and the feeling of success is so rare for him. We are eagerly awaiting future readers!

The Beehive Reader is an absolutely beautiful book that takes beginning reading up a notch by giving even the newest readers the successful feeling of being able to read a "big" book! The stories offer superb reading practice, the illustrations are delightfully gorgeous and offer visual appeal to all ages, and the design of the book from the hardcover to the feel of the pages, give it classic quality and appeal! Can't wait for more!

While I haven't used it with my kids yet, I read the Beehive Reader cover to cover myself and I love how it flows right with Level 1. I must add also that the pictures are absolutely beautiful. Thanks Marie, for another great product!

I've been looking for books that correlate with AAS Level 1 for my beginning readers (8 year old and younger siblings). It never occurred to me that you might actually write a book that would fit our needs! It's an answer to prayer. We received our Beehive Reader yesterday and my daughter can't put it down! She's in love! It's better than we hoped... Just perfect!

Today my 12 yo son asked if he could read our new Beehive Reader 1. Granted, he was waiting to use the computer--but he read the whole thing! About page 70 (he stopped to let me know what page he was on), he said, "This is really nice, parents are really going to like this for their kids. It's a good book to snuggle with. And it's a lot better than what I had to learn to read with!" His favorite story was the Ten Wishes.
He would like me to submit his request that you continue to produce readers, and one for his level soon, please!

One thing that I like about the reader is that the stories actually make sense. In so many beginning readers, the stories are quite preposterous. These stories just make sense and the text is not overwhelming or like reading a text book at all--it's more like snuggling up with your favorite book and reading because you want to, not because you have to!

I love that there are not too many words on a page and that every page is charmingly illustrated. The stories are nice too. The children act like children and not jaded sophisticates or brats. The animals are cute without being overly anthropomorphized.
The book has a nice, solid feel and could easily be a present. I am impressed that you managed to produce a heavily illustrated book with a quality binding that is not a mass market item for a reasonable price.

I got my book today and had to come here to say how excited I am about it. This reader is far beyond any other reader I've ever seen. This book is "gift quality," really. Wonderful short stories with just the right number of words and incredible illustrations. Thank you!

What a blessing it is to have the Beehive Reader to practice reading the words we're learning in All About Spelling. This book is very attractively, uniquely designed and has nice illustrations. Since I'm using this with a dyslexic ten-year-old, I appreciate that it isn't "babyish" and that it is completely decodable. Mrs. Rippel did an excellent job creating interesting stories with a limited selection of words. My son was thrilled to receive this in the mail (it only took two days) and immediately started reading it aloud to us. Hope that a reader for level two will come out soon. THANK YOU!

This is really the most gorgeous reader I've ever seen! There is a lot to like about this book: The stories have natural sentence structure and are very interesting. The font is nice and simple. Lots of care was taken with the illustrations, and they will appeal to all ages, IMHO. I'm still deciding which story is my favorite because I like them all! I can't wait to read this book with a child. (I'm a tutor, and that is my favorite part of being a tutor!). Truly a delightful book. Thank you, Marie!

I just ordered this book and it came in the mail within a few days. Awesome! Then I opened it up and the book is wonderful inside and out. Cute, nice, clean stories with picture in almost ever page. I sure do hope this is not the last of the series.
